PRINCIPLES IN CHILD & YOUTH MINISTRY SCHOOL KKI
CANADA
What is the challenge?
Almost half the world's population is under 18 years
old. Three out of five children, on the world average, have experienced
sexual
or physical abuse before they are 16. There are millions
of innocent lives world-wide that are being destroyed through abortion,
wars and
deprivation. Family disintegration leads to millions
of kids living on the streets or exploitation by the sex industry. Never
before in the
history of the world has there been such an un-precedented
attack on children and youth.
What will you do?
Do you want to be a part? We believe God's desire is for all young
people to discover their destiny and fulfill their potential
in Him - to have a hope and a future. God's hearts
desire is to release young people of all nations to go to the ends
of the earth to make a difference.
Is there a focus?
The PCYM in the early part of the new millennium will
take a focus on:
1) outdoor leadership training with young people; and; 2) child and family camps. Each participant will be take a focus on developing their skills in providing leadership in these venues.
The lecture phase will take place in McKenzie Towne a part of Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Lectures will be held in a local church with student housing near by. Calgary, a city of almost one million people is only a one hour drive to the beautiful, snow-capped Rocky Mountains.
When do you go?
The lecture phase will be a 12 week phase starting in
March until the end of June. The outreach phase will start at the end of
June and go until the middle of August.
What will you learn?
The PCYM is designed to provide excellent teaching and
tools for you to do child and youth ministries. Some of the content will
cover:
- Foundational and inspirational teaching on the character of God as it relates to working with young people.
- Human development: understanding the physical, emotional and mental development from pre-birth to teens.
- Strategies for working with pre-teens and teens.
- Examining problems of dysfunctional families and families at risk.
- Understanding the foundational principles and values of KKI.
- Principles of releasing young people in worship, intercession, evangelism, and leadership.
What will it cost?
Fees for the lecture phase will be $3000 CDN and will include housing, food, curriculum costs, and resources. Fees will not include transportation, passports, immunizations or Canadian visas. Fees for the outreach phase will vary, depending on the location of the outreach (local or international). This cost will include airfare, taxes, medical and cancellation insurance, ground transportation, living expenses, and airport taxes but will not include visa expenses or immunizations.
KKI is an international, interdenominational, relationship based movement of Christian volunteers who share a common commitment to a defined purpose, values and relationships.
